Important Information for Examinees at TCARA Testing Sessions
You are required to REGISTER and PAY $15 online before the day of the exam.
For every TCARA test session bring:
Two forms of photo identification with at least one being issued by a United States or State government entity.
An example would be a state driver's license (with photo) or a U.S. Passport, and additionally an employer photo ID.A ball point pen, a pencil, a simple calculator (+ − × ÷ √ functions only; phones and programmable calculators are not permitted).
Your FCC Registration Number (FRN).
For license upgrades, bring:
The original and one photocopy of each necessary document, such as current license, CSCE for exam elements, etc.
Your original license must be signed in ink before photocopying!
After the Test
When the FCC receives the examination information from the VEC, the applicant will get an email from the FCC at the email address provided. Even if the applicant does not receive the email, they can go directly to the FCC Pay Fees Site: https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/paymentFrnLogin.do and pay their fee ($35 FCC license application fee). They MUST pay the fee from a computer or laptop. The fee can NOT be paid from a cellphone or tablet.
If the applicant needs assistance paying the fee, they can contact the FCC at 877-480-3201 opt 2 for further assistance. The fee must be paid within 10 days of the application being submitted.
Once the fee has been paid, the applicant can find the callsign granted by searching the FCC License Search using their FRN #
Each successful Examinee receives one year free membership to the TCARA.
